AeroShell Grease 22 is a multipurpose synthetic grease meeting MIL-PRF-81322, widely used on wheel bearings, airframe points, and control surfaces where a wide-temperature, water-resistant grease is specified. Its microgel thickener resists washout and holds up under load, which is why it’s one of the most common greases in a GA maintenance hangar.
Check your airframe and component manuals for the specified grease before repacking bearings — and avoid mixing incompatible greases in the same fitting. Sold in a standard cartridge and tub sizes, Grease 22 covers most of the general-purpose lubrication points on a typical light aircraft.
