Description
Checkers 12-inch airplane chocks are molded urethane wheel chocks sized for light single-engine tires. Urethane shrugs off avgas, oil, and UV better than rubber, so they don’t crack and crumble after a season parked in the sun like cheaper chocks do. A connecting rope keeps the pair together and makes them easy to pull from in front of the mains.
For a 172, Cherokee, or similar trainer, the 12-inch size is the usual fit; heavier or larger-tire aircraft may want the bigger version. A set lives in most baggage compartments as cheap insurance against a parked airplane rolling on a sloped ramp.
