West System 105 Epoxy Resin is the base resin in the marine-and-aviation epoxy system many homebuilders and composite repairers rely on. On its own it does nothing — you pair it with one of the West System hardeners (206 slow, 205 fast) to match your working time and temperature, which is the whole point of the modular system.
Builders working on fiberglass or composite aircraft parts, fairings, and laminations use the 105/206 combination for its predictable cure and strong, gap-filling bonds. Always work to your kit or plans specification for the correct resin-to-hardener ratio and use calibrated pumps. Buy the resin and hardener together — one is useless without the other.
