Description
Maintaining reliable attitude and turn indication is essential for safe VFR and IFR flight, especially during instrument approaches or low-visibility transitions. The Sigma-Tek 5000B Turn Coordinator combines a sensitive turn needle with a slip-skid ball to help you fly coordinated turns and maintain spatial awareness in clouds or at night. This vacuum-powered instrument fits standard 2¼-inch panel cutouts common to Cessnas, Pipers, and Beechcraft singles and twins.
Before purchasing, verify your aircraft’s vacuum system capacity—most GA panels run 4.5 inHg at roughly 3–5 CFM flow. The 5000B requires proper rigging of the turn mechanism and should be tested for smooth needle response and ball centering during level flight. If your existing coordinator has sluggish response, won’t center, or shows erratic indications, replacement may be due. Check your aircraft’s maintenance records and POH for any specific installation notes or spin-up procedures.
